With the year wrapping up in a matter of weeks many artists, labels and fans are reflecting back on the year and the amazing moments it brought them. With that being said many media outlets dedicated to the electronic dance music scene will be putting together news articles showcasing the “Best of”. Look out in the coming days and weeks for some of my “Best of” in the trance music genre. This year it looks like Tech-Trance was a major highlight in the charts and events across the world. Next year I have a feeling the harder sound will continue and hard trance will be on top again. Check out my favorite productions this year in a NON Ranking list.

Paul Denton – Supernova
Paul Denton’s remix of Ton TB’s seminal classic was a huge hit and he returns once more to Outburst with this crowd wrecker, Supernova! A perfect fusion of tech meets psy with enough 1992 rave ingredients to fill any illegal party, whistles and horns at the ready!
Rainer K – Mind Twister ( Back In Time )
Mind Twister (Back in Time) digs a little deeper into the past, influenced by the sounds of the 90s, but combined with modern production techniques. The result is a lush and detailed soundscape that builds into an energetic frenzy, somehow feeling both familiar and utterly unique at the same time!
Vision X – Bantai
Peak time tech trance, with techy stabs and a HUGE breakdown!
Shax – Odyssey
Up and coming Hard Trance artist Shax makes his production debut on Hard Trance Revolution with the stunning ‘Odyssey’. Fusing the old with the new, this track takes you on a musical journey with blistering synth work, plenty of acid and a rumbling kick and bass to rock any dance floor.
Scot Project – D (Don’t Go)
Scot Project, the don of hard-trance and all things TECH, is back again on Outburst with his follow up to the 2016 release W5 (Waiting For)! The man with more letters in his back catalogue than a can of Alphabetti Spaghetti hits us with a D (Don’t Go) and it is a spot of studio-genius! Slamming in drop, after drop, after drop, Frank Zenker’s modern take on hard trance is extremely infectious and with all of his trademark drum patterns, soaring riffs, relentless basslines and old school vocals in place, this is easily one of Scot Project’s biggest ever releases. This will go down in history as one of the classics, a true crowd-pleaser!
J Rogers – Visions Of Imagination
J Rogers returns to Hyper Reality Records with his latest track, Visions of Imagination! Tough percussion is accompanied by layers of techy melodic elements for a subtle but energetic Original mix.
Daniel Doering – Gripen (Original Mix)
Rest in peace Daniel, may you look down from the sky and know we all truly love you and your music.
Aly & Fila – Rebirth (Ahmed Romel Remix)
Ahmed Romel is one of the best uplifting producers out there. Everything he touches is masterpiece material.
Basic Dawn – Pure Thrust (Ferry Tayle Extended Remix)
Now here’s a classic if there ever was one and what a job Ferry Tayle has done on updating it! There is so much energy on display here thanks in no small part to top quality production and a real driving bassline which combine with all the hallmarks of the original to bring you one immense rework!
Iain Cross – Diss U
Hard Trancer from Iain Cross on Scot Project’s Label. This one has been getting major play in the underground scene! The main man even did a remix himself.
