With the year wrapping up in a matter of weeks many artists, labels and fans are reflecting back on the year and the amazing moments it brought them. With that being said many media outlets dedicated to the electronic dance music scene will be putting together news articles showcasing the “Best of”. Look out in the coming days and weeks for some of my “Best of” in the trance music genre. This year it looks like Tech-Trance was a major highlight in the charts and events across the world. Next year I have a feeling the harder sound will continue and hard trance will be on top again. Check out my favorite productions this year in a NON Ranking list.

Andrea Montorsi – 2Night (Uplifting Mix)
Following on from the recent success of Sunshine on HTE, which was awarded Trance Track Of The Month in DJ MAG (Italy), the Italian stallion returns with an incredible vocal hard trance smash that is set to ignite dance floors the World over. Coming in two equally honed mixes, whether you like your drops banging or melodic, 2Night is destined for some serious airtime this year we believe.
Brian Flinn – Animate The Enemy
Brian is up on the top list of trance producers in the USA. Check out this energizing beast of a tune
Krunk! & Dimatik – Elevare
Take the most impactful tune you know, multiply it by seven and then you might begin to understand just how powerful this cut is. Conjured up by Krunk! and Dimatik, ‘Elevare’ is one of those peerless speaker busters able to create carnage in the blink of an eye. Quite the label debut on Reaching Altitude, we reckon.
Lostly – Away (Original Mix)
One of the most talked about tracks taken from Lostly’s recent Spotlight album Away, is now set to be unleashed as a roasting hot summer single! You can almost feel the sun beating down on your skin, the sand between your toes and the ice-cold beer in your hand as the melodic warmth of Away washes over you. This is a prime-time summer anthem and some of Andre’s best work to date, do not miss this scorchio uplifter – dig out the sun-cream and your best budgie-smugglers!
Sied van Riel – Atomic Blonde
This is the Sied at his mesmerizing and haunting best. Hypnotic synths break the surface of the skin and latch themselves therein, pads expand and contract then the mother of all razor-sharp riffs is unleashed at the break. Sied manages to authentically capture the authentic sound of Dutch trance in a way that is fresh, invigorating and NOW.
Giuseppe Ottaviani featuring Hypaton – Space Unicorn
Another superb production from the legend himself.
Renegade System – Lift
Renegade System’s “Lift” is easily a contender for a future classic. Watch this guy!
Thomas Datt – Fluid Karma (Extended Mix)
Thomas Datt is back again under the FSOE banner with his latest offering of Progressive Trance. ‘Fluid Karma’ delivers a high dosage of beautiful melodies and chord progressions to get you into the Parallels spirit.
Jamie Walker – Rebound (Original Mix)
After a considerable hiatus, Jamie Walker returns to Outburst with some of his best work to date! Rebound was featured on Prism Volume 2 and is now bouncing back in its extended form. What can we say about this track. Prodigy meets tech-trance? Altern-8 meets uplifting? Either way, this pounding release is absolutely bursting with rave energy! Huge stuff from Jamie, a future anthem and not to be missed!
Sneijder – Decimate
Tech trance does not come much better than this. Causing absolute devastation from Argentina to Australia, Decimate is the start of another trilogy from Afterdark’s front man Sneijder. Stadium sized bass and jaw a dropping production makes this one of the biggest tech records of the year. Not to miss!
